2023 Off To Positive Start For Renault Group

Renault Group are reporting a strong start to the year with 10.8% market share in the overall new car and van market, which is up 64% on January 2022. 3,561 new Renault and Dacia cars and vans were registered in the busy first month of the 231 registration period with Renault vans achieving over 20% market share, bringing it to number one in the market for the first time ever. Dacia had its best ever January with 1,428 registrations up 72% on last year. The brand’s market share is now at its highest ever since the brand launched here 10 years ago at 5.1% and is in the Top 10 selling car brands coming in at number seven ahead of leading long established and even premium brands.

Dacia Sandero is the second best selling model in the competitive B-segment with 743 registrations, an increase of 79% on January 2022.

All New Jogger is now the number one best selling 7-seater passenger car in Ireland with 346 registrations in its first January peak sales period.

Master was Ireland’s best-selling van and the best-selling van in the large van segment while Trafic was the third best-selling van overall and the best-selling medium van.

All New Kangoo van has just arrived in Renault dealerships with All New Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric arriving here in March. The Renault brand finished with 6.5% market share.

Arkana was the best-selling model in the Renault car range with 435 registrations, and number five in the highly competitive C-SUV segment, continuing to prove its popularity with Irish motorists and aided by the range topping E-Tech Engineered full hybrid arriving for 231 registrations.

Mobilize Financial Services (MFS) Ireland, Renault Group’s in house bank, lent €30 million in January, up €14 million on January 2022. This has been driven by an increase in Renault Group’s market share and a strong performance on fleet with over €12 million lent to SME and business customers in January and a further €200 million available to lend to retail, SME and business customers in 2023. MFS Ireland are continuing to offer new and more flexible terms on their PCP finance product catering for durations from 24 through to 48 months. They also have an interest rate freeze on their new car offers for Q1 2023 despite the uncertain economic issues.

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Director, Renault Group:

“This was a record January for Renault Group up 64% on last year and especially Renault vans at number one, it is our best ever sales result for LCVs. The Dacia brand achieved its best January since we launched it here 10 years ago, with sales up 72% on last year. Finishing January on the podium is a great achievement for the network. Overall, a fantastic start to 2023 for the Group with lots of exciting arrivals and more to come and with strong supply across both brands in the coming months, the Group is off to a great start to the new year. All New Megane E-tech 100% electric is in all dealerships now and we will have delivery of new orders here in March”.
